As an avid reader and born storyteller, content came fairly naturally to me. It feels weird for me to talk about myself on these pages and on social because our best work as marketers should always be about our customers and how we can help them, but this is my About page so...
I've done a bit of everything in digital marketing from product and partner marketing to specialized activities like email marketing, lead gen, and social media--and I know how to use data tools to measure success. I think understanding how all the pieces fit generates the highest-quality work.
I started out in Social Media helping with social content at Magento, especially to help amplify my other content work like blogs and gated lead gen content. I went full-time with it when we joined the Adobe team and had a lot of fun, but it's some of the hardest work I've ever done.
I think it's really just commerce now, but there are unique aspects to the online piece we think of as eCommerce, and that's been my career focus (though I spent a lot of years working retail in store). My favorite thing about working in eCommerce is helping folks build things, but there's something so satisfying about bringing all the layers of information and actions together and creating satisfying and profitable experiences.
I'm still amazed that they put twenty-two-year-old me in charge of teaching English Literature and History to 150 high-school students. I only got three years before I was cut with the budget, but was one of the most meaningful experiences of my life and taught me a lot about a lot of things.
Storytelling preserves our collective experiences, connects us through shared narratives, and helps us make sense of the world. It's how we teach empathy and other valuable lessons. It also sparks imagination, helping us solve complex problems. It's a big part of what makes us human.
While it only exists now in the memories of the Way Back Machine and me, the Magento Blog was the foundation of our content strategy, supporting all other marketing initiatives across the business. I helped design, build, and launch the blog in 2014 and managed it until 2019. In that time, I was responsible for the publishing of almost 900 blogs--and I wrote almost all of them. My favorite part is that this blog gave us a place to support and amplify the amazing people in the Magento Community.
I wrote this blog to highlight the possible benefits of adding third-party sellers to your website. I think it highlights my writing and eCommerce knowledge, as well as my ability to wrangle internal and partner subject matter experts from Adobe and Web Force 5 (an awesome SI firm). We also used this eBook a focus topic for a series of partner marketing events to help drive interest in our business offerings. It's not gated on Marketplacer's site, so I don't feel bad sharing the file here. But do reach out to Marketplacer if you like what you read and tell them I sent you.
In 2020 and 2021, I created and executed the social strategy for the Adobe Experience Maker Awards event, aired via LinkedIn Live. Since this platform is shenanigans and won't display iframes so I can embed the post, here's a link to one of the post-event posts.
This was an exclusive mixer event that I developed and managed with our partners Riskified, NewStore, ChangeCX, and commercetools, to help us connect with potential clients at Shoptalk Las Vegas 2023. Landing Page
I revamped the website and content for a local media production business, More to Watch Media.
